Desks

Desks are some of my favorite custom furniture pieces to build. A strong desk adds so much flexibility to a work space.

This intricate executive desk used my full bag of tricks. Cabinetry, CAD design, welding, blending, woodworking, adhesives, digital fabrication and old school hand fabrication. The cable management is integrated into the desktop and cabinet box. A lot of parts had to serve multiple purposes to condense everything into an elegant package.

This was also my first time making a fully blended stainless steel part. When you make a seamless monolith out of stainless steel, you have nothing to hide behind. There's no finish, so every single metal working step needs to be absolutely perfect. I'm excited to work with stainless in the future. A fully stainless part can last for literally thousands of years!

This one of a kind custom piece was delivered to a client in Springville Utah.

Orchard Securities Reception Desk Made of steel, walnut and baltic birch. Constructed for Orchard Securities in Pleasant Grove, Utah.

Crampon Desk Acacia hardwood slab with steel legs and walnut accents. The panels are offcuts from Black Diamond’s crampon manufacturing process. Custom made for a client in Mount Olympus, Utah.

Yenissei Desk This is my personal desk. It features the outline of Yenessi river, the largest river in Siberia. I traced satellite imagery of the giant Siberian river and CNC carved it into the hardwood Ash desktop. The carved groove was filled with epoxy and sanded flush. This is my take on the ever present epoxy pour river table. I have walked around on this desk to hang paintings and it feels as rigid as the floor of my house.
