About The Artist

My name is Sam Tresco. I started building furniture as an apprentice 12 years ago.

While earning degrees in Design & Physics, I built furniture, designed products and worked as a commercial fisherman. After graduating, I took the leap and started my own custom furniture Business.

Right now I am working to develop the future of hyper sustainable furniture. I’m using cutting edge digital fabrication to create the highest quality furniture possible. This furniture is optimized for refinishing, maintenance and repair which allows it to be used for centuries.

An object crafted with painstaking attention to detail has an unmistakable energy and soul. This can only be achieved by valuing the artistry in every subtle detail of fabrication, material, and finish.

Design Philosophy

Today, planned obsolescence is the norm.

Products often are designed to break and be bought again quickly. This culture of disposability is fundamentally unsustainable.

My furniture is designed to last hundreds of years, long enough for new trees to grow. I use materials and finishes that age gracefully, developing a patina and character with use.

Future Goals

After designing and building hundreds of custom furniture pieces, I’ve learned a lot.

I’ve discovered many small details that make furniture stronger, better, and longer-lasting.
Now, I want to use what I’ve learned to create furniture on a larger scale.

For the past five years, I’ve been testing a brand-new way to build tables.

These new tables are fully recyclable and made to last for hundreds of years.

I’ll start by making very high-end furniture in small amounts.

Later on, my goal is to make this strong, beautiful furniture more affordable, so more people can enjoy it in their homes.
